Chili con Carne

Sitting around one Sunday afternoon, I decided to experiment and try to create a chili recipe. I played around in the kitchen, tweaking the seasonings and amounts until I came up with this recipe. And if I must say so myself, it is one of the best chilis I have ever had. Enjoy!

In a large pot, heat the olive oil and cook the onions and garlic until the onions are tender (4-5 minutes). Add the beef and cook until the beef is no longer pink (7-10 minutes). Toss in the chili powder, paprika, cumin, allspice, oregano, cayenne pepper, and salt. Next, add the water, kidney beans, and tomato paste. Stir until tomato paste is dissolved and then add the honey. Cover and lower heat. Let simmer for at least 15 more minutes.
