Neat little seafood shop. The scallops and Tuna steaks I bought there were very fresh. They have frozen fish as well.
Small India/Pakistan grocery with a lot of good stuff. I've been several times and have only just begun to familiarize myself with their selection. Spices, and dried goods are just the tip of the iceberg, they also have Halal meats, and a freezer full of imported seafood and prepared foods. Another good thing to try is the MTR prepared food packets. They are great for healthy lunches.
Christina's Spice & Spec FoodsFriday, May 09, 2008
Christina's is a great place to find unusual spices of all kinds. It's also part of one of the best ice cream stores in Cambridge. They only take cash, so keep that in mind.
They make great fresh pasta here, cut to order. It's fun to watch them make the pasta right in front of you. Interesting flavors and sauces too. Try the pumpkin-sage ravioli, it's fantastic. Also has fancy cheeses. They have a lunch counter with fancy sandwiches, but I usually just go for the pasta.
Lionette's MarketFriday, February 29, 2008
This is on my short list of places to try. Owner Jamey Lionnette is very passionate about locally sourced produce and meats.
Newton Corner MartFriday, February 29, 2008
An interesting cross between a Chinese takeout restaurant, an Asian grocery and a convenience store. They even sell liquor! I was impressed by the selection of Chinese sauces, noodles and produce. They even had fresh bamboo shoots, which I don't see very often.
A neat little gourmet shop. They have a real butcher and are the only place I know that sells exotic meats like wild boar, elk and even rattle snake. They have gourmet pastas, foi-gras and truffles, as well as a good selection of produce
This is my favorite Indian store. It has great produce, and lots of interesting vegetables that I'd never seen before. Also has tons of spices and specialty products. A definite must visit in the summer, when they have tons of the freshest mangoes I've found in the Boston Area!!

Superb Italian groceries, has a really authentic feel. The variety of olive oil and balsamic vinegar alone are stunning. Try some of their prepared salad. They also have tons of imported Italian cakes, salami's and interesting pastas
